Here's an interesting story about how a guy made a ton of money writing online reviews for books. What's really interesting is that, slimy as it sounds, he made a lot of money because there was tremendous demand for his services, and there was tremendous demand because online reviews sell books. Lots of books. The more reviews, the more books. Just read how a self-published author became a bestselling author in large part because he bought a bunch of online reviews.
Which is to say, if you've read my book, The Sleeping and the Dead and you enjoyed it, please go to Amazon or Barnes and Noble and write a review, even if it's just a couple of sentences of glowing praise, topped with five stars, etc.
And if you haven't read my book, stop by The Booksellers at Laurelwood on Thursday, August 30th at 6PM, where I'll be reading and signing The Sleeping and the Dead. Hope to see you there!

Let's Do the Time Warp Again
I don't know what the weather is like where you live, but around here, we've been a month ahead all year. Cabbages and lettuce bolted in March, beans and tomatoes were ready in June. We had 100+ temps a month early in July. And now, in August, we've got September weather. I'm beginning to suspect something happened to the orbit of the earth. We went through a time warp or something.
Seasons change and so do I. Hopefully we are on our way to better things, like, another booksigning!
I'll be at The Booksellers at Laurelwood in Memphis on Thursday, August 30th at 6 PM. Hope to see you there!

Bucket!
This Saturday, I will not be performing ritual vomiting. Instead, I'll be signing copies of The Sleeping and the Dead at the Barnes and Noble on Financial Center Parkway in Little Rock, AR.
Join me there at 2 PM for buckets of non-vomity fun. After the party, we can down a couple of cans of Red Bull and visit the Clinton Museum. Should be fun!

Olympic Fever News
The other day, I was enjoying a water polo match, but I couldn't figure out how the horses stay under water that long!
