Favorite Fantasy Story

Jason Sanford has a post about his favorite science fiction story ever, which got me to thinking, do I even have a favorite science fiction story? I don't know as I do.

I do have several favorite fantasy stories... and, uh, all of them are written by Fritz Leiber. They are:

The Jewels in the Forest
The Seven Black Priests
Bazaar of the Bizarre
Stardock
The Lords of Quarmall
Trapped in the Sea of Stars
The Curse of the Smalls and Stars
The Mouser Goes Below

But I would have to say that of all the Nehwon stories, my all time favorite has to be Lean Times in Lankhmar. Fafhrd and the Mouser have split up. Mouser becomes second in command to a thug who makes a living shaking down priests. Fafhrd becomes an acolyte to a priest of Issek of the Jug and makes his church one of the fastest growing on the Steet of the Gods. Naturally, this brings the two old friends into conflict, hilarity ensues, and miracles fly.

I have two favorite short stories, both fantasy.

The first is "Repent, Harlequin!" Said the Tick-Tock Man by Harlan Ellison.

The second is Singing My Sister Down by Margo Lanagan; just lovely.

I haven't read the second one.

If I thought more deeply about the subject, I'm sure I could come up with some non-Leiber answers. This was just off the top of my head. But I do love his work. Conjure Wife is a favorite of mine, too.
