Another Tentacle in my Cthulhu Cap

"The Last Jar of Mayo at the H&P" has been accepted for publication in Aeon Speculative Fiction. This is the eleventh story I've sent to Aeon. If at first you don't succeed, try ten more times.

It's a tongue-in-cheek Lovecraftian love story between grocery store stocker Obediah Gilman and one of the regular customers at the H&P grocery store where he works. It's only a little like Updike's A&P, though I must admit I named mine in partial reference to Updike's famous story, but only because of the setting.

The H and P, of course, stand for Howard Phillips.

The Last Jar of Mayo at the H&P is the second of my nightmarish little love stories to find publication. 3:35, published at Horror D'oeuvres, is the story of a man who wakes up in the middle of the night to discover more about his wife than he ever wanted to know.
