I saw The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor when it came out a couple of weeks ago. Can I say that Jet Li's talents are serious underutilized in this cobbled-together piece of crap movie?
Sorry, did I call it a piece of crap? It has its moments, but for the most part, the movie is pretty darn horrible. I can't help but believe this movie was made from a modified version of the Sinbad movie what was almost made a few years ago, starring Keanu Reeves as Sinbad. Yeah, it was gonna happen, though it shouldn't have, and thank God, it didn't. So I'm not saying that's what happened, but his movie sure did feel like it was supposed to be something else entirely.
So back to Mr. Li. It seems that American directors can only see this man as some kind of kung fu machine, despite his performance in Hero. Did he even have a line of dialogue in the Mummy movie? If he did, I don't remember it.
If anybody knows Jet Li, or if by some miracle he reads this himself, please send him my way. I have a pitch tailor made for him. He can make it in China, and make it a purely Chinese movie, but every American will recognize and appreciate it. Plus, it will allow Mr. Li to actually act, in addition to kick butt.

Amen Jeff!!! I absolutely agree. I too made the mistake of going to see this movie and I had a hard time staying awake.
It's hard to believe that the talent in this film actually agreed to do it - they must have been bored.
