Heart Bowed Down is a science-fiction story set in a city during a galactic war. A female android is sent to recover the scientist who invented the shields that protect the city both from bombardment and from the poisonous atmosphere of the planet. Only things go wrong, as they often do, and she must find a new way to complete her mission.
The title is a pun, taken from the last line of the old song, I Ain't Got Nobody.
